You’ve chosen a winter wedding – how wonderful! – and now you need to get planning all the ins and outs of your big day. You can fill your winter wedding to the brim with gorgeous deep colours, shimmery décor and warming winter foods, all you need is a place to start!
Here are a few tips for planning a blissful wedding in wintertime:
Allow extra time
When planning out the timings of your day remember that as it is wintertime, there might be some unforeseen timing problems connected with the weather. You just never know, it could snow the day of your wedding, or more likely your wedding car might have had to drive a longer way around to avoid flooding!
Winter colours
Never have rich, warm tones been so needed and appreciated as at a winter wedding. You can really go to town with your textures too; even velvet should be on the cards!
Keep warm
An obvious one, but remember this includes your guests and wedding party too. A lovely touch I’ve seen at winter weddings is to supply some blankets at your service and reception venue for the guests. You’ll be rushing around and filled with adrenaline but we don’t want the grandparents feeling cold on this special day.
Play hard to get with the costs!
Remember that a lot fewer weddings take place in the low season and so even if a venue is very much used to hosting weddings all year around, push your luck at a winter bargain. You can certainly cut a deal with any hotel rooms you are booking or similar.
Consider your honeymoon destination
If you are set on a Caribbean honeymoon, then a winter wedding couldn’t be more perfect. If the honeymoon is high up on your priorities and you’re keeping it traditional by going straight away after the wedding, just make sure that your preferred destination is safe and at its best to travel to in winter.
Choose seasonal flowers
You’ll be surprised how many flowers and foliage will still be available in wintertime. Do your research so you’re not paying for expensive springtime blooms.
