Grey as a wedding colour theme is becoming increasingly popular and so an emerging combination is that of grey and silver. You get the milky hues of grey mixed with the glimmer and shimmer of silver, and if I’m honest, I’m in love!

One of the reasons why grey works so well as a colour scheme is that you can find grey foliage hues to work alongside your neutral flower choices. Of course, they aren’t really many grey flowers, however if you team some creams and whites with eucalyptus and dusty miller (if you’re not sure of this type of foliage then check it out, it’s beautiful) then you get the overall grey feel without having to worry about every bloom. You can also go one step further and add in some succulent heads, which have a lovely grey shade.

As I always say, one of the easiest ways of cementing a colour scheme is by having your bridesmaids wear your chosen colour or colours. In this case you have two options; to go for the matte grey or to have silver, glittery dresses in the mix too. It’s all about the overall look of your wedding day to which way you want to lean.

There are lots of ways of adding grey and silver accents to your wedding day. One of the most effective ‘shimmer’ pieces is to dress your reception tables in silver glitter tablecloths. This gives such a wow factor that the table decorations themselves can actually be less involved. Tea lights are a cost effective way to include these shades as once lit, the flickering of the candle against your grey and silver décor will give off the most beautiful shimmer.
