With a destination wedding, it can sometimes feel everything lacks the personal touches that make your day special. Read on for some great tips on adding a personal touch to your Cyprus destination wedding!

1) Pick A Theme

While most couples spend a lot of time picking a colour scheme for their big day, not everyone chooses a theme but it can be an excellent way of incorporating your tastes and interests as a couple. Perhaps you both have a great love of travel (ideal for a destination wedding!) so you might like to take inspiration from the cultures of all the places you've visited or maybe you're both avid film goers so want to add a touch of movie star glamour to your big day. Use a theme throughout to pull the whole day together and remember, just because you are getting married overlooking a Cypriot beach, it doesn't mean you have to pick a beach theme! Pick something that really reflects your interests for an extra special touch.

2) Make Your Favours

It's all the small details that can really add a personal feel so a wedding so why not consider making your own favours for guests that really reflect you and your big day? For example, if you're both big foodies, perhaps consider looking into favours of jars of scrumptious local Cypriot honey and Cyprus delights? If you have enough guests to warrant multiple tables, use table names and table decorations as a chance to reflect your interests too such as photos of you both throughout the years or favourite films. The possibilities are endless!

3) Choose Your Music

This is a  big opportunity to add in songs that reflect your time together as a couple. Whether you scout out a local band that play your favourite genre of music or give your DJ a playlist of your favourite songs, the music played on your day is a really big part that you can customise entirely to your choosing and goes much further than just picking ceremony music and a first dance song! You could even create a CD of your favourite songs that can be played as background music to your wedding reception.

4) Create a Welcome Pack

If you've got guests coming to Cyprus who are unfamiliar with the island, why not create a little welcome pack for them when they arrive at their hotel room? You can include all the details and schedule of your day as well as any other planned group activities and personalise it further by including some notes of your favourite local restaurants or places you've enjoyed visiting on the island.

5) Make a Memory Table

A sweet little idea for your wedding reception is to create a memory table or board. Bring old photos of you together and mementos of places you've been and things you've done together to create a snapshot of your lives as together. It can be a wonderful way to reflect on how far you've come in your journey up until becoming a married couple and share your highlights with your nearest and dearest.
